New Business stricken from agenda. CWHL meeting added as new business.

1. Is it necessary to have a January meeting or better to defer to April? - Keep meeting in January.

Sept 18^th 2010 will be third meeting - confirmed.

2. a) Looking for a general secretary -. People are happy to keep meeting organization the same as it is now.

b) Looking for Committee participants. Ideas proposed:

-Assign a team member from each team for each committee.

-Ask for volunteers.

- One member from each division for each committee. preferred

-Look to people outside the organization.

- Encourage members to nominate other members

c) Looking to incorporate as a social enterprise. Register the tournament as non-profit and the league as social enterprise.

3. Looking to streamline IRs. e-mail should be sent to both GMs if there are suspensions shit slips handed around the table for folks to look. Questions: where does our level of discipline fit in with other leagues? … Will history be kept? Is logged online, not posted publicly. They are on a google doc so that members can look at but not posted online. Feedback form available on the GTHLA site.

4. Operations - Scheduling - Hoping to start playoffs by early April, wrap up by May. Question regarding getting the ice on Sunday aft.

More pickup games sounds like a good idea to me.

5. a) Newsletter going out bi-weekly. Working toward making it a little prettier. May have to be reformatted if there are too many promotional items submitted.

b) Looking to get the website updated. Number of disparate websites, hoping to link sites through one main link.

6. Membership - Membership Agreements - make sure they get out to teams. There’s a form/link on the site. GMs looking for a way to know who has and hasn’t signed the form from their teams.

b/c) social capital tracking - Important to look with finance committee to make sure that raising discount is within league’s budget.

d) Volunteer Coordinator - Deirdre - volunteer coordinator extraordinaire.

Consequences for missing volunteer time?

e) Expanding eligibility - ?

7. ) B) sponsorship idea - if you bring in $1800 in sponsorship you get your team in for free. 10-15% commission for advertisement you bring in. Positive response …

Suggested that a more thorough database of the membership body would be required for big sponsorship.

9. CWHL Sunday morning game on Dec 13^th, 11AM to get at least 100 people to come out for the game. Location: Icelands . Free tickets available, $7 at the door.
